October TUSAL

Well guys, this is all I got.  Since I posted all my updated photos a couple posts ago I figured I would just leave them there and I will just write my goals for each project here.

Here's my orts for the month.

Larry Lion - My goal was to have him finished this month but sadly he isn't.  New goal - finish him and make a good start on the next one.  Only 6 to go once Larry is done!

The Joyful World SAL - My goal was to finish March and March is finished!

Halloween Rules - My goal was to be stitching on block 3 and I am and it is almost finished.  New goal - finish block 4 and 5.

Deepest Love - My goal was to have her tail finished and get a start on her skin... who was I kidding with that?!  New goal - finish that tail.

Hannah Lynn - My goal was another 500 stitches and I did add another 500!  New goal - Since The Joyful World is finished Hannah Lynn is becoming a regular in my rotation until I get a page finish so I am going to up that 500 stitches to 1000.

Mothers and Daughters - My goal was to get 4 rows of the verse finished and I did!  New goal - finish the rest of the verse.

ABC Christmas - My goal was to finish the next word I was working on and since I haven't shown this one yet here it is.

New goal - finish next months word.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Stitching!

Life and a few pictures

Well well well.  It's been quite awhile since I have had a second to sit down and write a post.  And in all honesty I really should be folding clothes right now but it can wait.

Actually Thomas really needs a bath so I am going to do that and be right back.

Ok that is done.  I really have no idea how single moms do it.

So how have you all been?  I am struggling to keep up with my blog reading but so far I am managing, kinda.  Work is going quite well.  My part time job turned into a full time job while one of the managers had to take a leave but she will be back in 2 more weeks so I will be back to part time and that is quite fine with me.  My house is very neglected and I miss my family but the extra money right now is very nice.

On to the stitching!

Halloween Rules - I am actually quite a bit further on this block but I guess I haven't taken a picture lately.  How I would love to have this hanging on my wall right now but hopefully it will be next Halloween.

Deepest Love - I am enjoying this one so much!

Larry Lion - Looking quite creepy here.  I guess that works for this time of year.  I am also quite a bit further on this one.  I think I need to be a little more on top of taking progress pictures.

Mothers and Daughters - This one is accurate except for the few stitches I put in today.

And lastly is Hannah Lynn.  I am actually closer to the top of her head which means I almost have another column done!  Yay!

Well yall, it's been nice to catch up but I am tired so I am gong to go to bed and hopefully watch a whole episode of Downton Abbey before I fall asleep.

I am hoping to be back tomorrow... maybe... with a finish.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Stitching!

I'm going back to work!

Hi guys!

So today is going to be my first day of work at my new job!  It is in a little store at our local mall.  It doesn't open until 9 am so perfect for me to get the kiddos to school and is only open until 9pm so no late nights.

I have been getting a little stitching done, not much but a little.

I am so close to finishing March on the Joyful World SAL.  Another couple days, maybe even one day will finish it up.

I finished block 2 on Halloween Rules.  This one is a fun stitch.

I finished another word on ABC Christmas, Zzzz.

I hope you all are having a wonderful day and I better go and get ready for work!

Happy Stitching!

September TUSAL

Hello!!
Well it is TUSAL time again so here we go!

My jar is filthy but a little fuller than it was last month.

And here are the wips that contributed to my orts this month.

Remy Rabbit - finally finished!

Larry Lion - started and will hopefully be finished by next TUSAL

The Joyful World SAL - Well I didn't manage to finish this but I am close and will have it finished by next TUSAL.

Halloween Rules - Last month I had just started the orange border (which looks yellow in this picture) on the second block and I am very close to having it finished.  So hopefully by next month I will be stitching on block 3.

Deepest Love - I finished her tail fin and most of the stitching above the highest vine.  By next TUSAL I would like to get most of her tail stitched up to where her skin starts.

Hannah Lynn - I was hoping to get 500 stitches added and I was successful!  So I am hoping for another 500.

Mothers and Daughters - I was hoping for 4 rows of the verse finished and while I have it cut off in this picture I only have about 1.5 rows so I am going for 4 rows again.

ABC Christmas - I added another word, "Ornament" and I have a good start on the next word and hope to have it finished by next month.

And that's it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Stitching!

The last hoorah of summer 2017

Hello again!

We had our last camping trip of the summer last weekend.  We went to the Dundas Plow Match which we have been doing for the last 4 years.  Brayden loves it!  Thomas finds it completely boring.  They couldn't be any more opposite.

Here is my Tom showing off his new hat.

And here are the boys doing the "Piggy Swat".  They used to use real pigs and the kids would hold a feed bag to herd them into the little building without actually touching the pig but you know how things are and someone decided that it was inhumane to the pig.  So now the kids have a pink ball with face drawn on it and a fly swatter to swat the "pig" into the building.  They still had fun so that is all the matters.

Mr. Monty was along for the weekend too.

Since Thomas wasn't enjoying the fair as much as his brother we spent a lot of time in the camper relaxing and I got quite a bit of stitching done.

Here is Deepest Love.  I almost finished her tail!

I also got quite a bit stitched on The Joyful World SAL.

Remy Rabbit only needs his gingerbread man finished and backstitching.  Another day should finish him up.

Yesterday I finished another word on ABC Christmas "Ornament".

Here is the whole project so far.

Well that is all the news I have to share.  Except that I am knee deep searching for a job.  I have applied to a few so everyone keep your fingers crossed that I find a good one!

Happy Stitching!

August TUSAL

Hiya guys!!

It is TUSAL time again!  Actually it is past TUSAL time but no surprise I am late again.

Here are my orts.  Pitiful.

Here are the projects that I worked on this past month.

Hannah Lynn - I added about 500 stitches.  Hopefully I will have another 500 by next TUSAL.

Save The Stitches - I added most of the outline for block 10.  Not sure if I will get back to this one next month.

Mothers And Daughters - Only managed to add two rows below the birds.  I am almost to the over 1 verse so I am hoping to get 4 rows of it stitched this month.

Steotch-A-Long - finished

Halloween Rules - I finished the first block and made a tiny start on the orange border of the second block.

Remy Rabbit - still not finished of this one!  But I am close and he will be finished by next month.

Joyful World SAL - added the green.  I hope to have this finished by next month.

Cars - added 1.5 columns on page 9

And I think that is it.  Phew!

Well if you made it to the end thanks for sticking with me :)

Be back in a day or two with an update to all the stitching I did while I was camping last weekend.

Happy Stitching!

Camping is the life for me!

Hey guys!

Get a drink and sit back...this could take awhile.

I am camping!
Right now as we speak I am sitting at my table, waiting for my coffee to get here, while Brayden gets ready for his first day of swimming lessons.  So I thought I should catch up with all of you while I pass the time.  And it sure is a time passer!  Campground wi-fi leaves a lot to be desired!

Onto the first picture which only took 10 minutes to upload. Ha!  Good thing I have all week.

Halloween Rules - I finally finished the first block!  I just love how cute it is.

Remy Rabbit - Finished the red on the stocking.  Not much left to go now.

Hannah Lynn - started up the next row.

Steotchalong - Finished the main part.  Now I have to choose from 16 different possibilities for the bottom.  I am pretty sure it is either going to say "The King of the North" or "Dumbledore's Army"

Joyful World SAL - Finished all the green stitching.

Cars - added 3 more movies worth of stitching to this.  It was only supposed to be 2 movies worth but I guess I can't tell the difference between a movie from 1994 and one from 2016.  Ha!  The movies for the Stitcher's Film Club this month were Labyrinth and The Jungle Book (2016).  I started with Labyrinth which I had never seen and I am a little angry that my parents didn't show it to me as a kid.  We had seen everything else Jim Henson had a hand in so I am not sure why this one slipped through the cracks.

My most favorite Jim Henson movie is A Muppet Family Christmas where all the muppets go to Fozzie's mother's house and Miss Piggy gets stuck in the snowstorm and Kermit finds the Fraggles.  The best!  I found it on youtube if you are in a Christmas movie mood -

My second and third movies for the month were both The Jungle Book.  My boys were hogging the tv so I figured I would just watch it online.  Quick search and there we go.  I had watched half of it when my sister came for a visit and I knew she had watched it so I asked her what she thought about it.  She was raving about the young boy in it and the special effects.  I was shocked she was so impressed with the special effects as I hadn't noticed any and then I asked her when the animals start talking and she quickly figured out we had not watched the same movie.  I was watching the 1994 version, none the wiser.  And really it has held up pretty well over the last 20 years.  So once I finished the first one I told the boys we were all going to watch a movie and got the proper one playing and I loved it!  Christopher Walkin as King Louie was so good!  And Bill Murray was the perfect Baloo.

And now a few pictures of my babies.

This is the only picture I have of Thomas recently and while his mouth is blue and his pose is a little awkward it is all I got.  Him and Monty are slowly coming to some sort of understanding. I really hadn't thought through a 4 year old and a maniac puppy.

This is from Brayden's last day of soccer for the year.

This one is his 8th birthday picture!  That's right I am now mom to an 8 year old!  We spent his day yesterday hanging around the campground and last night he chose a round of mini golf and cheeseburgers for supper.  Perfect way to spend the day turning 8!

Well I hope this takes you all less time to read than it did for me to write it.  Ha!

Happy Stitching!
