July Challenge Complete!

Hello dear friends!

I have been having a hard time lately getting any stitching done but somehow I did manage to complete the July Challenge on the Cross Stitch, It's Fun!  facebook group.  The challenge was to complete 100 stitches a week on your most challenging project.  In the end I completed about 450 stitches.  This project is pretty much a UFO.  I do plan to complete it one day and now after stitching on it again I would like to work it back into the rotation.

Here is before the challenge.

And here is 450 stitches later.  I finished off 3 pages and I am very close to finishing off 2 more so a successful challenge I think!

Hope you are all enjoying some nice weather today!  It has been beautiful here, hence the slack posting lately. ;)

Happy Stitching!

A little of this a little of that

Hi friends!

I am happy I have my stitching to keep me sane because these children of mine are testing my patience's !  I don't know if it is the heat or maybe they just got together and decided "let's see how far we can push Mama before her head explodes"  haha!  We had a little discussion this morning and hopefully we have turned a new leaf.  Wish me luck!

My bunnies are coming a long slowly but surely!

The little girl's dress on Little Wings has A LOT of white but the white on the right is as far as it goes so I have the bottom row of white pretty near done.

And today I finished off the Lizzie Kate freebie Peace Joy Love.

Hope your day is full of peace, joy and love and not fighting children :)

Trying to fit a few stitches in

Hello friends!

Between tending the chickens, looking after my niece and nephew, doing summer stuff with the kiddos and that boyfriend of mine tearing the house apart, I am finding it hard to fit any stitching time in!

Today started with me sleeping in until 9!!  The boys and their dad went to town and to get chicken feed this morning and I didn't even know they had left until they come home and woke me up!  It was heaven!  Then that dear man of mine decided today was the day to vent the dryer up through the attic and out the side of the house.  Previously it was vented under the house but things came apart and since he is a sheet metal worker and spends a good majority of his work life hooking up dryer vents and the sorts he might as well do that at home too.  I got to play his assistant today, not as glorious as you might think, it was mainly sweeping up his mess and running to get more tools.  So we did that for awhile then we played tourist for the rest of the day.

First we went to The Bottle Houses, which was really neat.  There were 3 houses built out of bottles that Edouard Arsenault collected then cemented together after seeing a postcard of a bottle house that was in British Columbia.  There were also beautiful flower gardens and a traditionally planted Acadian fruit and vegetable garden which was really interesting since we are getting more into gardening.

(Photo from The Bottle House website)

Then we went to the western most tip of PEI and put our toes in the water and spent some time at The North Cape Wind Turbine Farm.   I had no idea the size these turbines would be, enormous!

On the far right in this picture is the western tip of PEI where we put our toes in the ocean.  Those little white specs in the water in the bottom part of the picture are most likely lobster boats.

And since this is a stitching blog and all I guess I better show a little stitching.

I put another 100 stitches in on Draft Horses for the July Stitching Challenge from a facebook group.

I am getting closer to finishing the lady on Little Wings.  Fingers crossed tomorrow will finish her up.

I hope you all are enjoying your weekend!

Happy stitching!

Another eyeless stitch

Hello stitchy friends!

I am close to finishing the lady on Little Wings and once again I have left her eyeless.  I work from the bottom up most of the time so I guess that is why I end up stitching the eyes last.

I also put a few more stitches in on Beatrix Potter Bunnies.

We are off today to my sister in laws for some fun in the pool.  The weather is so nice today and I think a dip in the pool is just what we need.

Oldest most challenging wip

Hiya!

In one of the facebook groups they are having a challenge this month to work on your most challenging project.  The challenge is to stitch 100 stitches a week for the month on whatever project you choose.  This is mine.

It was a free pattern I found online and I think it is called draft horses.  As I am sure you can see from the picture it is complete confetti.  I think the further up I go the better the confetti gets or I hope that is the case.  I started this project probably in 2010, maybe 2009 so it is my oldest wip.  Also I taped the chart together to make one big chart and at the folds it is falling apart and making it impossible to read the chart.  And the last most challenging issue is that I decided to stitch it 2 over 1 on 28ct.  It is so packed full of stitches that I am having a very hard time finding the empty spots for the missing stitches, so I am starting to park some threads hoping that will make it easier.

I will finish this someday!!

Week 1 challenge complete.  I stopped counting stitches at 150, so I stitched at least 150 stitches.

I also found out I am not a stitch counter.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Happy stitching!!

Little Wings and Bunnies progress

Hiya!

Little Wings had a few more stitches added in her sleeve.  Her dress is so close to being done!  Yay!

I also made good progress yesterday on Beatrix Potter Bunnies.  I had my nephew and niece for the day and all the kids played outside most of the day so I sat on the deck and stitched away.

Hope you all are having a lovely day!

Long overdue!

Hello my stitchy people!

My Beatrix Potter Bunnies are back in the snaps for another turn.  Here is what they looked like way back in September!  I was shocked to find out it had been that long since I worked on them!

And here is the start of page 12.

I also had another little stitching session on Little Wings and finished the highest pink bow.

Thanks for stopping by!

The Color Run

Hello friends!

This is what I looked like after my 5km run walk.  A few friends and myself participated in The Color Run this morning whose slogan is "The Happiest 5k on the planet"  and we did have fun!

The Color Run, if you have never heard of it, is a run where along the course they throw colored powder at you and by the end of it you look something like I do above.  It was so much fun!

Hope you are all having a fun weekend too!
