Keep on keepin' on

Hello stitchy friends!

I finished the page I was working on on Titania and I was going to put her away for a bit now but I think I will just keep on going with her.  I am really enjoying stitching her right now so don't mess with a good thing right?

I managed to finish of 3 more colors on Cottage Trio.  Hopefully I can finish 3 more today.

On the Heaven and Earth facebook group they had a post asking people to post a picture from where they live and I thought that was a neat idea so this is my picture which I found on google.  I grew up on this road, though the part I live on has pavement.  It was dirt until I was 4 or 5 I think, maybe younger but this part, as far as I know, is still dirt.  I really should take a drive out that way this summer and check it out.  If any of you would like to share a picture from where you grew up I would love to see them so let me know in the comments if you do.

Where does the path go?

Hello friends!

I put in a path yesterday on Cottage Trio.  I am really going to try to work on this more just so I can get it finished.

Titania also had some attention yesterday.  Some more stitches were put in on her wings.

My sister was busy today so I am watching my niece Elly for her.  There is only 2 months between Elly and Thomas so they are lots of fun.  So far they have "played" the WiiU, colored, decorated my floor with stickers which have now been hidden and had a little snack.  I am sure that little girl could eat non-stop if you let her and she is the size of a minute so I really don't know where she puts it all.  About every second thing out of her mouth is "Teen, I want somein'eat".  My sister said she is changing her middle name to "I want somein'eat"

I hope you all are having some fun today!

A lot of stitching, not much progress

Hello stitchy peeps!!

Titania was worked on every spare minute I had yesterday and all I accomplished was 2 elbows.  I recently saw on a facebook group that someone was going to stitch their whole Mirabila over one!  I can't even imagine thinking about that!

Brayden is back to school today so it is just Thomas and I.  We are playing some WiiU and relaxing.  I hope you all are having a wonderful Tuesday!

The start of the over 1 stitching

Hiya friends!

Happy Easter!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  My boys are still on a sugar high ha!

I haven't been able to fit much stitching in with last week being March break and then Easter weekend.  Hopefully tomorrow with Brayden back at school we will return to a somewhat normal routine around here again.  What I did manage to do was start some of Titania arms.  I am stitching them 1 over 1 and I really had to give myself a pep talk before I started them.  I think they will be worth all the extra work in the end.

Here is a great video for anyone thinking about stitching the skin on a Mirabilia over 1 or even just stitching elements on any project over 1.

Christmas in March

Hiya!

Some of you may remember that Jamie bought me some fabric for Christmas and when the parcel came all it was was an empty envelope.  Well after a 3 month fight with everyone from the seller to Canada Post to Paypal I thankfully received my money back and last week I had a look on ebay to see what sort of fabric could be found on there.

I stumbled upon a seller from British Colombia who sells Zweigart fabric and after talking with them some more I come to find out that the over-dyed fabric they sell is dyed by Silkweavers.  The shop is called Stitch In Time Fine Needlework and they were a dream to deal with.  I ordered the fabric on Friday and I had it in my hand on Thursday.  It was packaged very well, each piece was in it's own plastic bag, then all three were in another plastic bag and the envelope had extra tape along all the edges and around the middle, no possibility of it accidentally being ripped open.  There was also a hand writting note, which I love!  They also allow you to combine shipping, for all three pieces my shipping was about $4 which I was very happy about.  They don't have a huge selection of fabric, when I ordered I think there were only 4 or 5 different colors but I have checked again and they now have 12 different colors in the 32ct.  They also sell other counts of fabric, patterns, threads, etc.   Definitely go check them out!!

This first one is Iris Garden, it is really more blue/green than blue/pink/purple and I plan to stitch a Mirabilia mermaid on it.

This one is Witch's Brew

And this one Aurora.

I am very impressed with the colors and can't wait to start stitching on them!

I took the kids to McDonalds for lunch and to play at the "park" as Thomas calls it.  It was a wild zoo in there yesterday!!  But they had a ball and it is free.  Win-win!  After we got home I spent some time with Titania and stitched more of her dress.  I might just work on her again today since I am enjoying her so much right now.

A whole day at the cottage

Hello friends!

Yesterday I decided to keep going with Cottage Trio and ended up finishing off 5 or 6 colors.  I even added some back stitching and now I remember why I didn't want to finish this... the back stitching is so hard to follow!  I am finding it easier to look at the model picture to see how the back stitching goes.  Anybody have any back stitching tricks to make it easier?

Back to the rotation

Hiya friends!

Since I finished the stitching on Sweet Tooth I am back to my regular stitching.

Titania is my main piece right now.  I am pretty much to her skin, which I am going to stitch 1 over 1 so I am really looking forward to seeing how I get along with that.

And my Cottage Trio by Janlynn is really filling in.  I thought only stitching one color a day was going to take forever but I am happy with my progress and the end is in sight.

My heart goes out to the people of Brussels and their families.  :(

Happy 3rd Birthday Tom-O

Hiya!

This is my small start on Sweet Tooth.  I was done in after that birthday party so I am surprised I even managed this bit.

Every year on Thomas's birthday I take a picture of him on Brayden's knee.  This was the day he was born.

This was his first birthday.  Look at the wild hair!

Birthday #2.

And this was today's picture.  My handsome little boy is growing up too fast but they all do don't they?  Right this moment he is leaning against me sleeping, today was another busy day and I still don't think he was recovered from yesterday.  He sure keeps me on my toes and I can't imagine what life would be like without him.  Happy Birthday Tom, love Mama xo

Pink is my favorite color

Hello friends!

Yesterday I added the light pink color on Cottage Trio.  Today I am adding a darker pink.  I am sure you are all on the edge of your seats waiting to see tomorrow's picture!

I also stitched pink on Titania, I must have been in a pink mood yesterday.

Well Mr. Thomas's third birthday party was a success!  I am just writing this quick post as the boys have their bedtime snack and play with the new toys for a few more minutes.  Also big news in our household, Brayden has his first loose tooth!  So all stitching plans are on hold while I stitch up this

This is was a limited edition chart from The Frosted Pumpkin.  I am changing all the colors and plan to finish it as a Tooth Fairy pillow.  I am sure the Tooth Fairy will appreciate not having to search under the 14 pillows Brayden has on his bed!  Wish me luck on getting it done before the tooth falls out!

Fairy Wings

Hiya peeps!

While I am sure her wings are going to take me eons to stitch I am absolutely loving stitching them!

Mr. Tom-O turns 3 on Sunday so this weekend is birthday party weekend so I don't think I will accomplish much in the stitching department.  Hooray to leaving the "terrible twos" behind.  haha!

3 wips, 1 day

Hiya guys!

My day started out yesterday with adding 2 thread colors to my Cottage Trio.  The purple color on the upper left corner and the light blue over the the bottom right corner are now completed.

Then I stitched some on my Santa Reindeer ( I really have no idea if that is his real name, the blog is in a different language and google translate is not translating his name.)  Only his antlers, eyes, nose, mouth and some snow left.

Last night was stitching guild night and I took Titania to stitch on.  Her wings are going to take some time!

Plugging away

Hello stitchy people!

I am still stitching at least 1 color a day on Cottage Trio by Janlynn.  I have about 5 colors finished so far.

I have also been stitching away on Titania.  She is so much fun to stitch with all that sparkly pink Kreinik.  I am also getting very close to her arms which I am going to try stitching 1 over 1 so I am excited to do that.

My oldest WIP

Hello friends!

Yesterday I picked up Cottage Trio which is a kit from Janlynn that I probably haven't stitched on in at least 3-4 years.  I have decided I am going to finish of a color of thread each day until it is done.

This is poor picture but I have finished the 2 cottages on the right and only have the 1 on the left left to do.

I also brought out Titania and have been enjoying stitching on her again.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  I know I did!

Teresa Tag

Hello, just me again.

Teresa Little Stitcher from youtube has a tag video and since I don't make videos I thought I would answer the questions here.

1. Do seasons affect your stitching pattern?(do you stitch less in the summer)

Not really, I don't find I stitch any less in the summer or any more in the winter.

2. Do you prefer stitching with a lap stand, on a floor stand or in hand?

In hand.  I would love a floor stand for my QSnap but I don't have the room or the funds right now.

3. Do you prefer stitching with a hoop, QSnap, Frame or in hand?

QSnap is my favorite by far.

4. Do you use a stitching light or no additional lighting - if yes, do you use a floor light or clip-on light?

No additional lighting...yet.

5. Do you use a magnifier? If yes, do you use the one with an arm that clips on or glasses?

No

6. Do you stitch one handed, two handed or both?

One Handed.  I have tried two handed but I am not sure yet that it is for me.

7. Do you prefer to stitch alone in a quiet please or around the family and in a living area?

Around the family in the living room is my preferred spot, but with a 2 year old that really is my only choice right now.

8. What is your preferred fabric and preferred count of that fabric?

I really like linen of any count but I have found lately that I enjoy the ease of stitching on aida for small ornaments.  I also stitch on a lot of evenweave and like it a lot too.  So really anything with holes is good for me :)

9. In your time stitching have you ever lost your stitchy bug, if so, how many times have you lost it and how did you get it back?

I haven't lost my stitchy bug in at least 3 years and that is when I started stitching more than one project at a time.  I find now that when I am starting to get bored of a project bringing out a different one to work on gets me back into stitching again.

10. Do you travel and stitch? Would you/do you stitch on public transport? or is it a home hobby only?

I bring my stitching with me quite often, I belong to a stitching guild so I stitch there once a week and I usually bring my stitching when I go to my moms to visit.  I always bring it when we go camping though I usually don't get too much done and any road trips I bring it too but I am not much for stitching in the car and I think that is because the roads around here are too bumpy to try to stitch on.  I don't ever use public transport but if I did you can bet I would be stitching on it.

Thanks Teresa for the fun tag.  I would love if some or all of you did the tag and if you do let me know so I can read your answers!  :)
