My 100th post!

I am still plugging away on my bunnies.  I have filled a bit more in the little bunny's ear.
The boys are all ready for Halloween.  This year I have Super Mario and a wee little skunk.  My skunk is ornery this morning so hopefully after he has a nap he will come around.  Happy Halloween!

My bunnies

Thought maybe some of you would like to see the whole thing.  And there is a little more progress from yesterday.  Also the etsy shop I bought this from has a new cross stitch pattern shop, you can find it here.  When I found out she had a new shop yesterday I "favorited" (I know... not a real word) it and she sent me a message on etsy with a code for 10% of my next pattern, so if you are planning on purchasing anything favorite the shop and you might get a code.

A Little Update

Here is where I was last time I worked on my Bunnies.
And here is where I am now.  I really have a push on to get this page done because Brayden is at me to work on his.  I am pretty well half way done so hopefully a week or two should finish it up.

Happy Stitching!

Day 59-61 Hannah Lynn

Day 59
 Day 60
Day 61 - not much difference from the day before but I decided that once I completely finished this first page I would put this away and work on the Beatrix Potter bunnies, and there were only 4 more lines of stitches on the first page.
This is approximately the first page of the pattern.

Pumpkins!

We had a great morning picking pumpkins out but I don't know why that as soon as I haul the camera out both of my boys forget how to smile.

He really didn't want to stick his hand in there but once he got started he was ok.

I got a bit more done on the sampler and I am really happy with how it is turning out.

New Start

I started Wooden Garden Sampler by The Victoria Sampler.  I have never done any stitches except cross stitches and back stitching, and maybe a french knot here and there.  In this little section there are cross stitches, back stitching, lazy daisies, and colonial knots.  And I love it!  One of the ladies from the guild talked me into giving it a try and I am so happy she did.

Oh dear I seem to have messed up the pictures and I don't know what I did or how to undo it.  Oh well we will just have to deal.  The above picture is of a dragon boat we made at the last guild meeting.  They were such fun to make and I think I will make a few for Christmas gifts.

Parc de Wesserling

Way back in April I stitched my initial in DMC 321 and sent it to France to the textile museum Wesserling Park.  I am not sure what made me think about it today but I thought I would go hunting and see if I can find a picture of the exhibit and see if my "K" made it in.

This is the "K" I stitched:

I know maybe it looks more like and H but I promise it is supposed to be a K.

Here is a picture of the exhibit with my K in it.  See if you can find it.

How neat is that?!?!  If you can't see it, it is in the 4th row, 4th one down.

If you want to see more pictures from the exhibit go the the DMC Blog

If anyone else submitted one let me know so I can have a look!

Happy Mail!

I had won and ebay auction last week so today I thought I would check the mail today in case it had arrived and I got a wonderful surprise when I found a package from Lizzie*Kate!  I received this because I had won a contest they had at the first of the year.  You had to submit quotes for them to use in their "Inspirational Boxer" series.  I submitted this one.  Lizzie*Kate picked 10 they liked and then those 10 were voted on and the top 3 became the new Inspirational Boxers.  For a prize we were able to chose $50 worth of charts and we receive the all the Boxers as they are released.

The next time they have a contest make sure you enter, they give out great prizes!

And this is the chart I won on ebay.  I have admired Lavender & Lace patterns for awhile now so when I seen this one I thought I would try my auction luck.  I paid $9.45 shipping included.  I guess that is good??

Day 49-52 Hannah Lynn

I don't know if anybody enjoys seeing these pictures, but I know I enjoy it, and it is my blog so you all will just have to suffer through.  :)

Rhodes Stitch Tutorial Video

I am so new to this whole stitching world.  A few of the ladies from the stitching guild I joined have said to me "So you only do cross stitch?!?", and I have to say yes because that is all I knew up until a short while ago.  Don't get me wrong, they don't say it in a mean way, more of a "I can't believe you haven't been sucked into this wide universe of hardanger, canvas work, blackwork and all the other varieties (see I don't even know what they are all called!), with no way back but to stitch your way out.  But the guild, blogs and youtubers are enabling me.

I only discovered needlework shops about a year and a half ago.  Before that all I knew was Micheals and Walmart for stitching supplies.  If they didn't carry it, I didn't know it existed.

But upon finding Stitcherista I was introduced to Lizzie*Kate and I had to have those Lizzie*Kate patterns.  The first one I bought was At Our House and I was a goner.

So perhaps there are more people like me who are just discovering this wide stitching world and maybe could benefit from this tutorial.

Go here to watch the video on how to do the Rhodes stitch.
