Once Upon A Time

I started the Once Upon A Time sampler from The Frosted Pumpkin and I love stitching on the sparkly fabric!  It doesn't really look like much yet but that is baby bear and his porridge.  Cute!  And I just found out today that they are starting a new Halloween Town Mystery Sampler!  I don't know if I can say no to that.

Pictures

I finished my letter K.  All the info on what it is for is in the last post.  I am heading out to the post office once the baby wakes up.  I got the pattern for my K here.

And here is 6(Fat)Men all finished!

Now what to do next?

No time for pictures

I finished 6 (Fat) Men but I don't have time for a picture right now.  I just heard this evening about and exhibition at the Parc de Wesserling for the past, present and future of DMC.  Go here to read about it, and I am off to stitch a K.  I hope to have some pictures tomorrow.

Fabric Has Arrived

Can you see the sparkles? It has sparkly thread woven into it!  I really have the push on now to finish the last block of 6 (Fat) Men.

This fabric is 28ct Crystal Doubloon Cashel from Picture This Plus, and it is for the Once Upon A Time sampler from The Frosted Pumpkin.  I am 4 months behind and I hope I can catch up.

Here is the progress on 6 (Fat) Men.  I am going to a retreat on May 2nd and 3rd so I hope to have this finished before then so I can start on Once Upon A Time.

Spring breezes

What a beautiful day we had today!  I have the windows open and the boys have shorts on.  Here is Thomas with his shorts.

I went to town the other day and picked up 4 of these buckets at the Dollar Store for the boys rooms.  I seen somewhere that a mom had used hanging buckets in her kids room to hold headbands and little things but when I seen these I thought that they would be big enough to hold socks and underwear.  So for now in Thomas's room they just hold socks, but hopefully in the not too distant future they will hold some underwear too.

Here is a little progress on 6 (Fat) Men.  I only have this block and one more to go!

Fun Night!

I am just getting back from my first evening with The Lady's Slipper Needle Arts Guild, and I had such a good time! It was so much fun stitching and laughing with all the ladies and the one brave man.  I really can't wait to go back.  Thank you so much to Heather of Old Crow's Nest for inviting me.

Sale at The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery

Right now at The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery, if you buy 5 patterns you can get 15% off with the code PUMPKIN.  I don't know how long this sale will be on for but I just used the code and it worked for me.  I ended up saving $12 on patterns which I had planned on buying anyway.

Prize from Lizzie Kate

My prize from Lizzie Kate arrived today and I can't believe all the stuff I got!  They are way too generous!  I got the ABC Christmas chart and thread, all the Halloween Rules Double Flips with charms, a Lizzie Kate calculator, 2 bookmarks (I think) that have pictures of Christmas Rules and 6 (Fat) Men and 6 Snow Belles, and a hand written note from Linda, which looks exactly like what I thought her hand writing would.  I can't wait to get started on all of this!

A Little Update

I am working on the 3rd snowman.  I am really enjoying stitching these snowmen.  I also don't usually use a hoop but so much material I am finding it hard to hold it all bunched up in my hand.  I think I am going to have a look around for some Qsnaps and try them out.  I have never used them but I don't like what the hoop does to any stitches that get caught underneath the ring, and the Qsnap looks like it would be quite a bit gentler on the stitches.

Below is one of my resourceful ideas.  My boyfriend said "Is that a chip clip?!?"  Yes, yes it is, and actually it works great.  It holds the pattern perfectly and while I am sure there are official pattern holders out there, I don't know if they would work this good.  Haha!

*I had to delete the last photo because I posted a photo of the chip clip holding the actual pattern.  Where was my head?!?  My camera is on the charger right now but I will repost a picture without the pattern when I get a chance
